According to his records on file in Tallahasse, Fl., Richard Franklin
Edenfield enlisted on Sept 8 1862 in Tallahasse, Fl. by Captain Milton for a
period of 3 years or the duration of the war. The name of his unit at the time
of enlistment was Capt. Milton's Independent Cavalry Company, Florida
Volunteers. This company was consolidated with nine other independent
companies by S.O. No. 1787, Headquarters Dist. E. and M. Fla., dated Dec 4,
1862 to form the 2nd Regiment Florida Cavalry, and it became Company G of that
regiment. For the period Oct 31, 1862 to Feb. 28 1863 he appears on company
muster roll of Company G, 2 Reg't Florida Cavalry as a Private. He was listed
as Absent without Leave and as being sick and furlonged for 16 days since 2
July. He also appeared as being present for the period May and June 1863 for
Company G, 2nd Reg't Florida Cavalry. For the period June 30 to Oct 31, 1863,
for the same Company, he was listed as transferred. He appeared on roll for
Company A, 5 Batt'n Florida Cavalry for the period Nov and Dec 1863. The
remarks section listed him as being transferred to Compnay E, 5 Batt'n Florida
Cavalry on Dec 20 1863. The roll for Company E, 5 Batt'n Florida Cavalry, for
the same periond Nov and Dec 1863, listed him as being transferred from Company
A, 5 Batt'n as a Pvt on 30 December. For the period Dec 31, 1864 to May
1865???, Company E, he was listed as being absent from the Company and under
the remarks section was the comment, "Feb 7, 1865 Detached duty by order of
Captain McElvy."

to the Confederate Army, surrendered by Maj. Gen. Sam Jones, commanding
Confederate Forces in Florida, to Brig. Gen. E.M. McCook at Tallahasse,
Florida, and vicinity, in the compliance with the terms of a Military
Convention made on April 26, 1865, at Bennett's House, near Durham's Station,
N. C., between General J.E. Johnson, of the Confederate Armies, adn Major
General W.T. Sherman, U.S. A., and approved by Lieut. Gen. U.S. Grant,
U.S.A.
Richard F. Edenfield, and his company, surrended at Quincy, Florida on May 10
or 11, 1865. ONe list listed the date as Ma 10 and another listed the date as
May 11. He was paroled at Quincy, Florida on May 22, 1865.
Richard F. Edenfield applied for a Soldier's pension on March 1, 1902 because
of an injury received in the line of duty during the war. It is not clear
because of the leibility of the application exactly what injury he received but
he did receive $96.00 per annum. After his death, his widow, Martha Jane
Edenfield, applied for a Widow's Pension and received a pension of $120.00 per
annum.

Florida. Sarah had 2 brothers in the 1850 census, Wiley and John Durden. All
the Durdens were listed on page 32 of the 1850 census. F.E. Durden was listed
as Francis Durden in the 1860 census, page 111, Calhoun County, Florida.

Florida. Sarah had 2 brothers in the 1850 census, Wiley and John Durden. All

Martha was the daughter of John and Martha Ellerbee. John and Martha
Ellerbee had at least 9 children according to the 1870 census, page 257, for
Jackson County, Florida. There were 7 girls and only 2 boys listed in the
census. Martha was the oldest girl. The youngest child, Francis, was six
yours old and all of the children were listed as being born in Georgia.
Elizabeth Florence Johnson was the daughter of Eleazer and Henrietta Plane Johnson. Eleaser Johnson was born July 11 1836 and died Sept 17 1875. He served in Co F, 2 FLA INF, CSA during the civil war.
Eleazer was the son of Alford and Annis B. Johnson, Annis and Alford was married in Warren County, Georgia on Dec 18 1822. Annis was listed a Ennis McGlamry in a book, "37,000 Early Marriages of Georgia" by Maddox-Carter on
page 299.
Henrietta and Eleazer was married on the 24th day of Oct. 1857 in Jackson County, Florida/ The marriage is recorded and on record in the Jackson County Courthouse, marianna, Florida. Henrietta was born on Jan 23 1833 and died Oct
